Dash lights not working.

I just bought an 03 Gt. The dash lights were working but I switched it to high beam headlights for the 1st time & the dash lights all went out. I switched from Hi to Lo a few times & they came back on only to go out again when I switched back to lo. All other lights(interior & exterior) work.

I smacked around the dash & steering wheel to no avail. It doesn't seem to be an intermittent connection.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Dash lights not working.

you need to find a wiring diagram for both the interior lights and for the high and low beam headlights. See what part of the circuit they share. I believe only the switch, but i could be wrong. Maybe try juggling the switch to see if that makes any diffeence.

Send me a private message if you need help with getting a wiring diagram.

Re: Dash lights not working.

My 97 was doing exactly the same thing. It really had me going for quite awhile because it acted like it was something to do with the turn signal stalk.

Turned out to be the headlamp/interior dimmer switch. Found a used one on e-bay for 15 bucks. New delco part was something like a $140.

Re: Dash lights not working.

Update

My dash lights started fading in & out as they pleased. I ordered the headlight switch off of ebay for $25. Installed it & now they work like a charm.

Thanks

Glad to help. It is a real pain trying to drive with no dash lights.
