I went around 128 because of stupid governor crap. Felt like My tranny was in neutral, slowing down to 100 mph as u were pressing brakes slightly. After it slowed down to 100 i got my gas pedal up and running

Muhahaha
I've reached 240 km\h with my 2002 maxima.
it was at night on an empty highway with 2 friends, it was so silent, I could hear the air hitting parts of the car, and the engine was screaming, Vennnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!

170 in my '95 Supra TT (modified), had more but ran out of straight road.
165 on my '98 GSXR 750 (topped out, was looking for another gear). 110 in my '01 Pathfinder, hit the speed limiter. 110 in my wife's '01 Maxima (it'a GXE so the suspesion did not make me feel secure). |

I've hit the limiters on all the cars I've owned.
The Maxima stopped at ~133mph and felt like it was going to take off the ground and start flying The fastest ever was 155mph on a friend's FD

Just a friendly reminder of why we have governers. If you were to lose control of the car for any reason whatsoever, past 120mph your chance of survival (in any condition) is practically nil. I know speed is exciting and I probably sound like an old grandma, but please please please save excessive speed for the track. Racetracks are maintained, and swept, and cleared of debris, whereas on public roads you never know what you might encounter around the next bend. Gravel, broken glass, a deer, a couch, a gas can, a stopped semi, a fallen tree. I have seen all of these on the freeway, in one or both lanes.
In addition, if you lose control on the track, you risk hitting a concrete wall (but not head-on) or grass. Maybe, maybe a building. On the public roads, you may encounter guardrails (which at only 75 can spear through your car and you like a shish-ke-bab) , trees, other motorists (which may attempt to change lanes into you with no warning), pedestrians, etc. I know, it seems like it'll never happen to you, but it might. At least think of this before the next time you street race. Someone I know on another forum lost control and killed a pedestrian, who was on the sidewalk. VERY VERY GRAPHIC REMINDER OF THE CONSEQUENCES OF LOSING CONTROL AT 170mph

The fastest I have ever been was 119 in a 1991 Sentra...that was 2 years ago and since then I doubt I've been over 90.

i think the thrill of going extremely fast only lasts for so long. its getting up to the fast speed thats the fun part. lots of cars can go 100 mph, even a friggin saturn, but when you take a ride in a vette or something like that and get up to 100 from 0 thats when you start having fun.

Tell me about it bro. I used to work for Valet parking. My friend who worked there hooked me up. One night 2 guys came in on 2 Porsche 911 Carreras. One was regular another was sports package with bigger rims and other junk. My friend is a nutcase of 100th phase.
The restaurant that we worked for had a parking lot around it and in the back of it there were no windows, so my friend decided to see how fast would he go in that lot. I was sitting next to him while he was doing 60mph in 1st gear. NO BULLSHIT seriously!!! Normal people brake before turns... my friend doesnt He went into 90 degree turn on that speed, fishtailing throughout it. I almost shitted my pants since he almost hit like 5 parked cars in that lot. PRETTY SCARY SH*T MAN

You guys have to remember that everything in Germany is different, as the cars and roads are designed for the Autobahn, not to mention that driving over there is a completely different experience. The family I stayed with had an Opel wagon, a diesel, and we would comfortably cruise at 120-130. Europeans roads are extremely tight and precarious at times, and drivers are trained to know their cars extremely well, much more so than over here.
