E something - need help pls
How do I find out whay E number my BMW is i.e. E30, E46 etc.? Does it even have an E designation?
It is a 1996 320i SE with electric everything. Standard stereo system with CD changer. Can anyone help me? Much appreciated!

Your bimmer is a E36. The first 3er, the E21 was produced until about 1983. From about then til '91 was the E30, then in '92 they began producing the E36. The E46 was began around '98 or '99.
Of course will all these dates there are some overlap. . .

Thanks Guys. Much appreciated!
Gonna be installing a sound system in over the next few weeks, but the standard system only has 2 front door mids and the back shelf speakers. I haven't had time to check everything out yet. But looks like I am gonna have do a massive overhaul to get it into shape. Thanks again!
