n00b here. i need help pls

hello everyone. i fouind this forum looking for help. i have a 2004 grand prix GT1

i was able to get a leather steering wheel with rdaio controls at a salvage (yeah 4 me) for the GT2 version. i would like to switch mine out obviously. i have the PAC unit to connect to my aftermarket head unit (alpine), but the problem is.

how do you remove/replace the steering wheel (esp without blowing airbag!)

if i have to i will take to dealer, but would like to learn myself...

thanks in advance for any/all help,
Ryan

You must disable the system by disconnecting the battery cable, negative, but there is still no guarantee that it will not activate. I would have someone familiar with the system change the wheel for you. It is alot safer and shouldn't take more than an hour in labor costs. Air bags on the other hand will cost several hundred dollars to replace.
