first of all i like to say ***** *** motorexWell im in the military staioned in Japan. And i see the skyline here on base from the gt-s which is a bucket on base and runs for $100(89-91) and the gt-r which run for r-32 $10,000 r-33 $20,000-$25,000 and the r-34 $35,000 and its not illegal to import it your self. i know because theres a shipping company that imports cars here in yokohama. and theres also a website that imports them. just look for and he will help you his name is yoshi. just look at his r33 for sale its a gtt for 12,000k. and as far as the cost for importation is not alot and you have to pay for the sales tax of your state. thats all i know for right now but when i get more info i will post it. so dont go thru motorex and just do it yourself but you do need a contract with a RI to get in the states. if you want to know more just email me at :smoka: ** First off I would like to say I edited your post. Read and weep... http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/import/ " The following provides information concerning the importation of a passenger car, truck, trailer, motorcycle, moped, bus, or MPV built to comply with the standards of a country other than the U.S. or Canada. Importers of motor vehicles must file form HS-7 (available at ports of entry) at the time a vehicle is imported to declare whether the vehicle complies with DOT requirements. As a general rule, a motor vehicle less than 25 years old must comply with all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards (FMVSS) to be imported permanently. Vehicles manufactured to meet the FMVSS will have a certification label affixed by the original manufacturer in the area of the driver-side door. To make importation easier, when purchasing a vehicle certified to the U.S. standards abroad, a buyer should have the sales contract verify that the label is attached and present this document at time of importation. A vehicle without this certification label must be imported as a nonconforming vehicle. In this case, the importer must contract with a DOT-Registered Importer (RI) and post a DOT bond for one and a half times the vehicle’s dutiable value. This bond is in addition to the normal Customs entry bond. Copies of the DOT bond and the contract with an RI must be attached to the HS-7 form. Under the contract, the RI will modify and certify that the vehicle conforms with all applicable FMVSS. Before an RI can modify a vehicle NHTSA must have determined that the vehicle is capable of being modified to comply with the FMVSS. If no determination has been made, the RI must petition NHTSA to determine whether the vehicle is capable of being modified to comply with the FMVSS. If the petitioned vehicle is not similar to one sold in the U.S., this process becomes very complex and costly. A list of vehicles previously determined eligible for importation may be obtained from an RI or from the NHTSA web site. Since the cost of modifying a nonconforming vehicle, or the time required to bring it into conformance, may affect the decision to purchase a vehicle abroad, we strongly recommend discussing these aspects with an RI before buying and shipping a vehicle to the U.S. " Then you have EPA - http://www.epa.gov/otaq/imports/imptop.htm If you are in California - then Air Resources Board. Customs , etc. Before you say to fuck someone - you should be careful not to fuck yourself. |

I found this place that sells skylines and they only charge $17,000 for a 1998 model. They told me to pay for only the shipping and they'll take care of the rest. So that means that it will cost me only $21,000 to get a skyline here. So i dont know about Fucking Motorex but there prices are too high. |

Instead of sending it to these guys that sell you a 1998 for $17,000 ,21,000 .

Aww, come on! My thread about the foolproof way to import a skyline got shut down quicker than this one! And even though I did that one out of humor, I think it had a higher intelligence ratio than this one.
Want to import a Skyline? Then you HAVE to go through Motorex. That's it. End of discussion. Unless RB Motoring is going to start sometime soon. Any word on that, Tyndago?
