2000 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet
Here's my Italeri Porsche 911 Cabriolet. I built it in 2001. The only annoying things I encountered where: 1) switching to Tamiya 911 GT3 wheels (because the kit wheels suck) and 2) the headlight buckets are made of two pieces and required filling a joint and sanding in a small area).
Its painted MM enamel custom mixture of dark blue metallic with a bit of green over a navy blue base coat. Interior is custom tan (and a bit monotone, IMO). Enjoy! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Looking good there. I have not seen the kit wheels, but I know the Tamiya ones are perfect. Nice paint and interior. I like it.

Re: 2000 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet
Hey dude, nice build, I like your car! Anyway, I also had the 911 Carrera Italeri kit, and in my opinion all the wheels were definitely small, so I think you chose the better way to use tamiya 911 gt3 wheels. Nice build!

Nice, I love that color on a 911.
I keep almost buying this kit but I already have plenty of Porsches in the closet.

Excellent. This is just what I needed to motivate me to start the 911 GT3 I have waiting!!!

But, the other method - using smoked clear - is much more tricky. I've been unable to achieve satisfying results. First, the lights have to be taped well. Second, the smoke clear has to be applied evenly and just enough, otherwise it gets too dark (i've had to strip multiple times and order new parts). |

Excellent finish on the bodywork. The interior painting is very impressive and the colour compliments the body colour perfectly.Really nice model.
