Help Please!

I know that this is the wrong place to post a ? I can't find any where to post this, so forgive the intrusion.

Today I ran out of gas. I filled the gas tank, but she does not want to stay running. She's sputtering and stalling. Did I get dirt in the line? I've never run out of gas before. What do I do? Help me please.

Thanks,
Polly

Re: Help Please!

I moved your post to the Engineering/Technical forum where I think you'll have a better chance of getting the proper help with your issue.

Re: Help Please!

sounds like you have air in the fuel system and lines. you'll have to take the car to a garage for them to bleed the fuel system.

Re: Help Please!

When was the last time the fuel filter was replaced? It is possible that by running out of gas and then adding more fuel to your tank, you stirred up dirt and sediment which got into the fuel line and stopped at the filter, possibly plugging it.
