Unhappy help! 93 subaru legacy wont start

Help I'm confused as heck. I left work the other day and car was running good no problems. I stopped to fill up the tank and went to start the car. It wouldnt start. it turns so its not the battery. diagnostics says it is getting spark, and fuel. and I checked the timing. all ok. But the damn thing still will not start. also replaced spark plugs, still nothing Although I did notice the front right side spark plug wasnt getting wet. fuel pressure is 90 psi. I am lost I dont know where else to go with this problem. Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Re: help! 93 subaru legacy wont start

is CEL light on? what codes? if p0105 try replacing the cam position sensor.I had a similar problem in my 1995 legacy wagon. cam sensor tested fine until I caught just after it set p0105 and tested right away. It was way out of range. replaced it two weeks ago. no problem since.

Bimmermann, pay no attention to the above poster please, he is giving you incorrect information.

If you are getting P0105, check the manifold sensors, you may have a faulty manifold pressure sensor. The actual description for P0105 is "Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction"

In either case, pull the fault code if you and start from there.

Can we correct the above response from me to change code to p0340. Again I apologize for my error on the code. Some times our minds play tricks on us.

Re: help! 93 subaru legacy wont start

I believe Subaru didn't put OBD-II into their cars til 1995. The 93 is still an OBD-I system so I can't imagine anyone getting codes like that. Should be a number of places to get the procedure for the codes. One is Legacy777's page:

http://www.surrealmirage.com/subaru/subaru.html

click on "notes and tips", then "engine related". Codes range from 11 to 55. Note that not near as many things are covered as they are on the latter OBD-II systems.

I can't imagine it not running if it is getting fuel, air, compression and spark. So it must be missing one of those. Not sure what to suggest first, but recheck what you are sure is happening. Good luck.

You didn't by chance remove the intake snorkel did you? It won't run as the air flow meter will assume there is no air moving into the engine so it won't provide fuel.
