coolant in oil - low pressure?
Just as a general point of reference, will coolant in your oil cause the pressure to drop in the oil system? I replaced the radiator in my blazer, which was causing coolant to get in the oil, but I also lost pressure in the oil system, which I assumed was a bad oil pump, but now that the radiator is fixed, the pressure seems to be ok (at least for a while). Should I go ahead and replace the oil pump anyway?

Re: coolant in oil - low pressure?
when oil and water mix, the froth badly. THis will cause the oil pump to cavitate and suck air and have low pressure.
Definitely not good for the bearings

Re: coolant in oil - low pressure?
Replacing the radiator can't put coolant in the oil. That can only come from a bad head gasket, cracked block, or cracked head. That's big. Fix it while it can be fixed. Either you stop now and it can be fixed, or it stops itself and its not even valid as a core to exchange for a rebuilt one.

Re: coolant in oil - low pressure?
I am (nearly) positive the radiator was the cause of the coolant in the oil: the blazer has a radiator that cools both the coolant, the engine oil, and the transmission fluid, so an internal crack can cause mixing. The head gaskets were checked, and were fine.
