Please Help

I was driving and my max just died on me turnd off. I went to turn it on and it started for just 2seconds and it dies. It sounds like its runing out of gas. But it has half a tank of gas. If i try to pres on the gas it just turn off. Its a 96 with only 58,467 miles

PLEASE HELP ANY INFO WILL HELP
