Thats how I painted my battery tie down but it was the same thing for the valve cover. Use paint stripper on the cover because it's harder to sand down because of all the contours and crap.

Calipers are easy too. Just undo them from the rotor, cover everything up with paper. Try and clean them first, then spray. Unless you want to undo them, and have to bleed your brakes...

It would be mad hard to not take the caliper off the car since the hoses are too short to let you sit it on the ground, it would have to hang there. Bleeding isn't that big of a deal, especially the front.

Yeah you could but all the suspension and crap is reall in the way. I thought about doing mine but decided not to since I didn't feel like masking all that crap off. Your bound to get paint on something you don't want it to be on.

Kind of a bad pic, but just tear everything out, clean it all up, paint it, then put it back together.

Started on it today, did about 2 coats. I will add a third and final tommorow. I got pics, I masked all the shit off really well.

Question: When the car is on jackstands, is it ok for the doors not to open and close right, and will they go back to normal once I put the car back on the ground? I think mdnnccivicrcr can help me here, his car was on stands for a while.

Yeah the body flexing is completely normal, though if the stands are on the body where the spare tire jack is supposed to go when changing a tire then it shouldn't do it too much. But some cars are just bad about it. I put like a 95 taurus up on them one day and the doors wouldn't even open, so I put it on the lift and they still wouldn't open.

As far as the valve cover goes you'll need the new gasket and if you can find someone with a sand blaster or glass bead machine it works great. We have both of them and the glass bead cabinent works alot better. Anyway that's the best route to take if you can find one to use. As you're probably finding out now you don't have to take the calipers off as long as you do a good job of masking.
