Tein Coilovers- Which one?!
I have a 99 hatch and was looking at Tein's for coilovers. The trouble is, there are so many models avaliable. Which one is good for my car? My car is a daily driver if that makes any difference. Thanks!

Hatch = less weight, so you wouldn't need as aggresive spring rates as you might want with a coupe. I have Tein coilovers on my '00 Civic coupe and i LOVE them!
I have the "SS" (Super Street) model which I'd say would be your best bet. When tuned to the stiffest setting, they are quite bouncy, but then when put to the softest, they almost feel like stock. You could go with the HA's, they are about $100-$150 more, and the only difference really is that they have higher/stiffer spring rates which just makes your ride feel that much firmer. Have you gotten any prices on them, and did you have somewhere in mind to get them from? I know there's a place on www.groupbuycenter.com that's selling Tein and can send you the SS model for about $925 shipped to most places in the US.

Thanks for the info man! I was wondering if there was one that has the pillow mounts that would meet my needs. I heard the pillow mounts help a lot. What about the flex type (the one where you can get that electronic device with it to set the stiffness of the shocks from inside the car).

Ok, after a lil more reading, I found that the Type SS does come with come with the upper spring seat and that the EDFC (Electronic Damping Controller Force) works only with the Type Flex set. Would the Type Flex be a good choice for me??

Although being about $200 more than the SS model, the Type Flex seems like it's about even with the SS model. The only real difference of it, is it's teflon coating on the adjustment threads to help prevent rusting and weathering, plus whatever extra it needs to accomidate the EDFC unit. I believe you can the pillo-ball mounts for the SS model, I know you can definietely get them for the HA and HE models. But the Type Flex other than costing a little more would be a good choice.
But I'd say only get the Flex if you plan on getting the EDFC unit to go with them, otherwise you're better off saving the extra few hundred and getting the SS's.
