Post "Wheel and Tire Build"

Hello all I'm giving info to all who need this (evil_hanzel)
Things your going to need to do this project.
1.Super Glue
2.Shears or Scissors
3.Hobby Knife
4.AMT Impala Tires
5.Fujimi Spoke Wheels

This image is the three part Fujimi Wheel you will not need the middle part.

You will need to cut out the spokes on the outer wheel & inner wheel to start things off.

You can not use this style on large wheel like Aoshima wheels there 19in we are working with 14-15in. you need to find a wheel you like to go on the in side between the Inner wheel and outer wheel. You don't have to use a spoke style wheel for this look. If you need a wheel for you big super swamper tires this will work there to, look at the next 3 images.

now that the wheel work is over time for the tire work to begin if you have an AMT kit like the 62,63,64 Impala or 66,67,69 Ford Mustang kits. Most all AMT car & truck kits have these tires. In the next images the tire with the mold part cut out and the tire cut in half.

After cutting the tire inhalf you need to trim the inside of the tire (to make the low pro look). If you don't cut the tire inhalf it's hare to trim the tire see the messups on the tire to the left, on the right side the right way (Row 1. rong,Row 2. yes that what you wan't)

Now rap the trimmed tire around the wheel and let it over lap to see how much you need to cut off images 1-2.

Now cut off the part you don't need to make the tire smaller. now super glue the to ends together and try to fit it to the wheel it should be tite, you might need to trim the tire agine when you get it to fit it should be a some what tite fit so you won't need to glue the tire to the wheel.

In this image an lod tire off to the right laying flat is an (and) old one to the left the one we are working on now.

Now the wheel is fitted to the wheel how's it look you will need to hide the cut line by putting it under or down when you finish you model like on the truck.

Now this is the wheel with a Fujimi tire and the next images is the fujimi tire & wheel and the AMT tire & wheel.

Now a model with the fujimi wheel combo & tire on a GMC 4 door truck (SUV) and my lifted bed truck.

As I said on the other thread the outer wheel is fujimi crome spoke wheel with hub wheel from a RM (Revell/Monogram) 67 vette. I mounted the wheel combo the the kits outter hub.

sorry I didn't tell you where the wheel in the project comes from (AMT RESCUE 911 Ambulance) kit no.6416

Re: "Wheel and Tire Build"

good write up, and may come in handy down the road *coughae86cough*, but why not just cut the width out of the fujimi tires?

Re: "Wheel and Tire Build"

Thank you all, cutting the width mmmm I didn't think of that at the time or the first time I did this I asked a friend to show me how he got his tires so low "hmmmm" he said by the time I teach you; "I'll be a pro" I said what whats that mean so he yelled I don't have time for you man. So I said ok ok man and took a long time looking at his tire and when he was not looking I fliped (held one in my hand) one of his models over and saw the cut line under the tire and the said to my self I think I have some of those tires at home. Yep had some from my Impala kit's thin I just started trying things and fell in to how to do this trick. So I told my self if any one ever asked me how to do this I would tell thim.
