Vtec not working...

Hey guys, i have a 95 accord ex 5-speed... i recently realized that when i drive... or well... ive never felt the vtec kick in.... i rode in my friends accord and i realized the big difference... i dont feel the v-tec... the rpm increases at a constant speed... i have no idea what it is... any help would help. thx in advance.

Hm, try this: get going at about 20 MPH in 3rd gear. Slam the throttle all the way open and take it to red line. Listen carefully and you should hear an audible change in the engine note at around 5K RPM's. If there was a VTEC malfunction you'd be getting a CEL.

i Tried that, and nothing still dont hear anything or feel anything... the CEL didnt go on / isnt on... i know it works though cause it lit up a while back when my distributor was damaged... so i dont know whats going on... there arent any codes saved either...i checked that...

VTEC controller depends on oil pressure. Make sure your oil is at the correct level.

YEs SOMICK is right if u are low in OIL your Vtec will not work If the oil is not at the level to lub the vtec parts in the head then no Vtec.
