My clutch won't come back up!!!

I have a 97' civic for about 2 months now.. it has not given me problems until now... you know like when I turn the car on, after I release the clutch, It just stays stuck like it was glued to the wall. i have to pull it back to its normal postion with my foot.. Now Im not the guru of cars and how they work... but I do know that it shouldn't be acting this way.. something is wrong obiously.. so thats why I just registered to this forum a minute ago.. I read many of you know your thang about cars. just give me some feedback like what should I check or change.. hopefully is nothing complex. thanx in advance ...E

Sounds like a bad master cylinder. Could be a bad slave cylinder too.

check your clutch fluid level and inspect for leaks .If good you may have air in the system.

If you don't find any leaks and you bleed the system and it still don't work you could have either the mast or slave cylinder going out...

sounds like a spring off or it's got air in the slave cylender it's on the side of the tranny see if it looks wet if it is your going to have to replace it and bleed the air out of it...but if not leaking i'd say spring......good luck...

not always a bad master cylinder... air in the line/low fluid will cause the same problem. top off the fluid and bleed the line. wash rinse repeat

Re: My clutch won't come back up!!!

I had my mechanic do the leaking of the air for me for free... it had some kind of oil in the system where dot 3 goes, I don't know who put that liquid there, I guess the old man who I bought the car from.. anyways it worked good after the cleanup but then 3 weeks later, the clutch disk was burned out so he replaced the whole system with everything new.. my car works smooth now... thanks ya'll
