1984 Toyota Celica Supra 2.8GT Old School Style

This is an old 1:24 Tamiya kit from the early 1980's that I have restored. I made new glass from clear plastic sheet because the original was covered in glue! This was a bit fraught, I also added a photo etched rear wiper. The car is based on the Touring Car racing versions of the time so I removed the side mouldings, extended the front spoiler, lowered it and added some deep dish 15" wheels.

I've still got the door mirrors to add which I should get done tomorrow when I can also hopefully get some outdoor photos, the weather is rubbish in the UK at the moment!

Any comments welcome!

Whoa...mean and clean!

Perfect stance and interesting wheel choice. All it needs are some panel lines.

Cheers

I agree on the panel lines. They'll add sooo much to the car and it'll look amazing. It looks great now, nice and clean!

The wheels came with a Fujimi Toyota Supra racing kit (the model after this one). They were completely wrong for it and I think they are actually AMG Mercedes wheels!

I did think about doing panel lines but I've always been put off doing them because I think that unless done perfectly they can look very unrealistic, 0.25mm = 6mm scale panel gap! I will probably leave this one because I have polished it but may have a go on my next model.

its a fujimi kit right? yup the wheels are AMG wheels, a lot of them in old fujimi kits. the racing supra you are referring to is the fujimi group A supra, it does have the AMG wheels.( i have a kit at home),
