JDM Nissan 300zx. Fully custom 56K

Hi guys. It took me a year to do this model. The wheels alone took me 4 months to make. This is the way I will customize a nissan 300zx if I ever get to lay my hands on one (it is my dreamcar).

Manufacturer: kyosho Scale: 1:18.

Modifications:

Body:
-front bumper
-rear bumper
-side skirts
-nose panel
-removable targa roof
-openable fuel flap
-new rear window

Interior:
-beige-black flocking
-illuminated lcd
-new gauges
-USDM seats
-seatbelt harness
-4point seatbelts
-rear audio installation with illuminated Z logo
-speakers in doors

Engine:
-AEM stand alone computer
-new turbos
-firewalls
-chrome plenum
-fusebox
-brake lines, brake cilinder
-turbo hosing
-battery
-fuel lines, filter
-intercoolers
-new exhaust

Other
-white corners
-red sidemarkers
-panel lines
-j-spec taillights
-wheels
-brake rotors, clamps
-and ofcourse tire shine

It was a huge project for me, sucked up about 170$

Comment please,
Amnes.

Thanks for looking.

Re: JDM Nissan 300zx. Fully custom 56K

There's nothing I can say. It is that freakin' amazing. I love the light job...

$170 on the project? Just multiply that by 100 and that's pretty much how much it will cost to do that in the real thing... Not including the car...

You actually did the wheels from scratch? They look sweet!

Just going over the initial shock of the car. I might add more comments later...

Re: JDM Nissan 300zx. Fully custom 56K

Ok; initial shock over.

I'm assuming the rear does not open right? You could have put some black on the speakers to make it a little more realistic.

How long did it take to do the fuel door. Really nice touch.

What's with the gap on the center dash? Makes it look like you're missing something there...

Love the engine details too...

FREAKIN' AMAZING!! It looks so clean and perfect, I love it! That is a very nicely tuned car, as with the others I am still in initial shock, so comments should soon follow. Oh, and where did you get that lovely blue tubing for the turbo plumbing?

Nice one, you've done a great job!
Same beautiful colour as my 1:1 version too, so you get double points.

Re: JDM Nissan 300zx. Fully custom 56K

Turbo plumbing is made of isolated cable. The gap on the center dash is a feature of 1:18 scale models, and the trunk does open, but when you open it paint gets scraped off the roof... and 300zx doesn't look good with a open trunk. Fuel cap took me a week maybe more. And yes the wheels are from scratch

Waiting for more comments and thanks for replies.

Looks pretty good. The only thing I can think of is.. Straighten out the steering wheel.. and add something to the screen of the dash so it looks like something is actually on the screen and not just light comming out. Unless there is something there and I just dont see it

Re: JDM Nissan 300zx. Fully custom 56K

oooooooooooooo ok.. you could take a small print out of some screen shot of a 300zx and put it over the opening and the light should be bright enough to make it light up like a screen... just a suggestion.. what did you use for the "tire shine" I want to use that for my diecasts?

Re: JDM Nissan 300zx. Fully custom 56K

I used a floor shine to shine the tyres.

That's exactly how it's made

Re: JDM Nissan 300zx. Fully custom 56K

Well the led thing was talked over quite a couple times but I guess I can do it again.

All you need are led diodes 3mm and 5mm, two 1,5V batteries eg. AAA, wires, a microswitch and a solder. You should also use resisrors, but since it works anyway without them why bother .

Wire it all up like this (I never remember if the longer leg of the diode needs + or - but if you wire it up wrong it simply won't glow)

I hope you get the picture. Get some supplies from the internet if tou don't know any electronic shops nearby. Here in Poland where I live it's easy to get stuff like that. But in the states no one bothers to play with electronics, so hardly anyone sells them. You'll have to find supplies on your own
