Audi R10 TDI LeMans 2006 engine reference photos ?

Hi,

after I saw the test-shot parts of the Revell AG kit (link posted by ZoomZoomMX-5: http://www.deutscher-plastik-modellb...audi/audi.html )

Anybody has some photos of the Audi TDI-engine ?

I've never had an issue using google.com to find what I need:

Many more, and larger, photos available online too.

Re: Audi R10 TDI LeMans 2006 engine reference photos ?

Stupid question time...

Is it just me, but the parts count on that Revell kit looks surprisingly low.

I didn't count them, it's just a visual impression and maybe for a kit of this genre it's difficult to have more parts...

What're your thoughts, Micha?

I'm not "criticising" anything about the kit per se, just thinking out loud and looking for a more experienced perspective on this.
I am actually very interested in this kit and will be getting it for sure (even if everyone says it's officially crap )

Re: Audi R10 TDI LeMans 2006 engine reference photos ?

Thanks for the pics, freakray, I found them on Google, too.

Sorry, probably my question wasnīt accurate enough:

Iīm looking for fotos of the engine, if possible in the car (lift off engine cover) to see about the environment of the engine (filter, wires, lines, sensors, etc).

Maybe someone was surfing over a webside by accident with those photos.

Steve, looking at resin kits of prototype racecars (I have here a LMM Audi R8 in Crocodile-Style, a Sakatsu Dome from 2001 and a Perry Resin Ferrari 333 SP -with engine-) I think the amount of parts compared to the price is ok. The AMT 2006 Camaro Concept, I am building at the moment, hasnīt more parts. Those resin kits often come with metal / etched parts, which isnīt common on plastic kits. What I can see on the photos is that the Revell wheels are far away from looking crisp and fine

Re: Audi R10 TDI LeMans 2006 engine reference photos ?

The parts count looks to be about the same as their F1 cars in 1/24 scale. While they are curbside, they can be made to look pretty decent All of my models are displayed with the covers on any way so it's not a big issue.

The way I look at it, I'm just glad they are making it, soft molded and possibly undersized rims and all. I don't have the patience (or want to spend the money) for a resin kit. This is better than the alternative of not having any! I wish they'd make more....

I'm sorry but Audi keeps it very secret when working on their engines, It is very hard to find a pic of the engine fitted in the car. there maybe some outthere, but Audi likes to cover up or close the garages when working on engines

Right you are, Spike, the same at the moment with Peugeot and their 908 at the first two races. Keeping details secret seem to be a bigger contest than finishing first in the race

Hi benjabullle

YES - THAT is the sort of photos I was thinking about - great, also for the gurneyflap-reminder

Steve - first I need the kit , then the free space around the kit-engine will be filled with wires etc
