AF group build - VTEC powered Super7 (completed)

-----------------------------------------------------------------
[EDIT] 07-07-07 >> deadline reached! I don't want to start another
thread on this one. Please enjoy this ooooold post opcorn: [/EDIT]
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Allright....it's done!

I finally found the time to take some pics of the completed VTEC powered Super7.
WIP thread is here.

While uploading the pictures I noticed that I forgot to paint the shift knob

I'm also thinking about painting the rear light housings semi flat black to match the headlights. Same problem as with Steven's: the rear lights are not at the same height

Well, on to the pics opcorn: opcorn: opcorn:

Now.....C&C welcome!

Cheers from Germany
Sebastian

IŽd never thought those side panels would look that good. V-Tec engine is a perfect match! I like it!

Nice! Is it physically possible to mount a B-series motor in a RWD config in 1:1?

Re: AF group build - VTEC powered Super7 (99.9% finished)

Thanks for the nice comments, guys! I appreciate it and it keeps me motivated to work on the other kits in the to do pile.

I don't know whether it is physically possible to mount this particular engine in a real car with that configuration *shrug* - but it sure works in scale :-)

Re: AF group build - VTEC powered Super7 (99.9% finished)

A very nice Super Seven. Possibly I would have made more Caterham-style rear lights instead of the early 1960's style lights, as the model is otherways very modern.

And engines designed for transverse installation in FWD cars are very common in 1:1 super sevens, like Opel/Vauxhall C20XE, Rover K-series, Toyota, Ford Zetec, and even motorbike engines etc. They usually use e.g. a cosworth T5 transmission with a custom made bell housing. I haven't seen this Honda engine, but I guess it would work as the other engines as well.

What an absolutely delicious build! Everything about it is superb.

If I can still do it to mine, I am going to steal your idea of fixing the nose cone to the hood. I have been trying to come up with a solution for that and like all the best ideas, yours is simple and elegant
