remove catalytic converter?
Is it wise to remove the catalytic converter on my '87 zx and have it replaced with a straight pipe?
Will this have any negative effects on my zx? |

removing the catalist on your Z should have no negative effects on the performance of the car. the only thing that it will do is increase horse power by increasing air flow out the back of the car. the only down side is that the car will now be much louder than it was befor and that in some places the emissions laws might get you. but other than that i think that it is a good idea.

actually most converters flow better than your average exhaust pipe, but being 16 years old it's probably not in the best shape. only on newer vehicles you have to worry about removing your cat becuase most have O2 sensors behind the them
