what do the ladies like?

ok so around here [Penn Tech] the ladies are somewhat into the tuner/techie, motor head type guy, but i went to visit LVC the other week and as soon as I mentioned that I was into cars and an automotive engineeer. I was totally ignored by this girl that had seemed very interested in me before>????? I dress preppy I guess and I love to party just as much as the next guy? I was reffered to as a vocational student of vo-techie???? i'm not, but its not like there's anything wrong with that? Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this bias? ladies or gents?

That assumes they all like the same thing - which is buzzzzzz....WRONG.

I don't profess to figuring out any of them... which doesn't preclude me from trying to meet more of them. And DOHCron, as Steel suggested there are plenty of fish in the sea (something like a billion of them probably) so keep looking. I haven't found the perfect specimen (for me anyway) but it hasn't stopped me looking...

Good Luck Dude...

I've been avoiding this long enough, seeing as how I'm the only female in view for miles...

We know what we don't want. That's the easy part. The rest of it gets stickier as you go along. Sometimes for the sake of stubbornness we go after what we don't want anyway (don't ask, I'm not at liberty to say why). Othertimes we grow up and look for someone who doesn't have what we don't want. This is not a fun process. It's harder to find qualities that someone doesn't have than it is to find qualities that someone does have.

Don't try to make yourself fit into some preconceived, magazine image of a mold. It simply doesn't work that way. Besides, if you want a girl who likes cars, she won't be reading the latest issue of Cosmo on what fragrance and style is tres chic for the month. I haven't read a beauty magazine for months, maybe years.

Be yourself. You'll fit someone's idea of "worthy" and you'll be far happier than if you tried to play the role of an angry punk dude. In all honesty, this is so cliche and yet so entirely true it is sickening... WAIT. Just sit and wait.

And I'd second that thanks to Tangie for her perspective (damn I keep agreeing with Taz all the time).

I'm also with Moppie because I'm bloody confused too. (Hell's bell's that's two in a row). But I guess I shouldn't be surprised this whole woman-man thing is complicated even more so when a some of your best friends are women.

I have to profess I've been utterly useless at long-term relationships... serial monogamy (interspersed with periods of frantic and largely rewardless skirt-chasing) seems to be the story of my lovelife - and usually the fault's been squarely in my court.

Jiminy Christmas!!! I give you a nice, drawn-out post that thoroughly explained why we women are so messed up, and all I get is crap!!!

In the words of Mr. Brown: Good Grief!!!
