Find a new large rims and wheels

Hi!!

I have some experience in scale modeling, but I never made a custom model created by me. Now I have a Datsun 510 from Revell and I want to use with it a different rims and tires instead of default.

My question is, where i can found a set of rims and tires that can be compatible with this model or some tutorial for do that?

Thanks!!

Re: Find a new large rims and wheels

just about any other monogram/revell kit will have rims that will work with that car. try doing a search on ebay for wheels or rims in toys & hobbies. then select automotive. there are generally quite a few on there. also look to HLJ.com (that's hobby link japan), they have HUNDREDS of wheels.

as far as making them fit, you'll have to be the boss on that project. for mounting tamiya, aoshima, or fugimi rims, I generally find it best to cut off the mounting pin on revell/monogram kits, then drill a hole that will accept a pin in the spindle/axle so I can mount the wheel with a matching hole for the pin. if the wheels are not far enough out, you can make a longer pin and make spacers.
