HID kits

What's the HID kit to buy? Meaning, who makes good kits? All I ever really see are kits on Ebay, which also seem to be the only affordable kits out there. There's no way a kit should cost $300 and these are the kits I often see on websites not on ebay. Are the ones on ebay good?

Re: HID kits

Why dont you think they should cost $300? Factory HID systems cost in the thousands. Buck up and buy a quality kit.

exactly.

when i saw the thread title and read "kits", i wanted to vomit. search for "HID" under my name and you'll get a lot of info. in fact, i posted a bunch of links to read so people could educate themselves on automotive lighting and HIDs, etc. SL3000GT posted those links in the FAQ thread.

EDIT: here's the FAQ post http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...7&postcount=24

this is a good page to discuss the difference between HID Kits, OEM HIDs, and HID retrofits http://www.intellexual.net/hid.html

and here are some more links with pics:

Re: HID kits

i have HIDs, i believe i got them from techone or something, they were in a group buy on 3SI. I believe i paid somewhere between $200 and $300 for them, so yes they are more expensive because you have the HID bulbs themself and the ballasts that power them.
