ya, about that TT swap.

i'm almost split down the middle as to whether or not i wanna do the swap. don't get me wrong, i would love the added power. but reasonably, the only way for me to do it is to buy a tt 3s that's got engine damage for around 2k or less and used it as a parts car. but the only downside is that a FI car's reliability goes way down. granted, its all in the tune, but the NA dohc is my car for a while, and i don't have the money to rebuild the engine if something went wrong.

also, if i went FI, i would want to have the AWD there too! so basically i'm gonna keep my car NA, and hopefully get a VR4 a few years down the line when i have the money and resources to maintain it.

in the meantime, i'll just get my car looking and running better. I've got some HID's and projectors on the way. i'll do a HID retrofit in a few weeks. hopefully get a taller 5th gear over the summer. and save up for the 3sx long headers. not much more in the way of bolt-ons after that, but at least i know i'll still have a well-maintained reliable car, that gets me from point A to point B, in style.

Re: i got a package today...

right, if you want polishing, you'll probably have to check out dave best www.gofastgoodies.com or check out one of the shops such as 3sx, or find an individual or local shop who does polishing. But keep in mind that polishing is more expensive than powdercoating.

Re: i got a package today...

uh oh... got ANOTHER package today:

woo hoo! yeeeeah. these are a pair of bi-xenon projectors and ballasts with D1S bulbs. i tested them with a 9V battery, and they work. color temp is either 4100k or 4300k. difficult to tell. straight out of a cadillac XLR. can't wait to put em in my car. pop-up bi-xenons! craaaaaaaazy.

-->hey Hotshot, when you put your HIDs in, did you add a projector or just put the bulbs/ballasts in with your stock projectors?

Re: i got a package today...

i fired up these freakin shweet projectors tonight. just hooked them up directly to the car battery. took some pics comparing the stock halogens vs. 4200K HID beam, and some of the high beam. i can't wait to tear into the stock headlight housing and mount these bitches. i'm so pumped. you have no idea. i go from lights that get OwNed, to lights that OwN.

stock halogens (low or high beam doesn't matter since they suck a big fatty)

HID low (all the HID pics are light just from ONE projector. ONE HID projector OWNZ 2 stock P.O.S. halogen reflectors)

another HID low beam

HID high beam

HID beam line

HID low

HID high
