I dunno if this is the best section to post in, if not, my apologies. A number of years ago (4 or 5?) I remember having a simple simulator that let you enter # of cylinders, bore/stroke, compression ratio, camshaft adjustments... and would give you relative (if occasionally inaccurate) results. I cannot remember what it was called, but if anyone knows what I'm talking about, or even a newer, more capable program, I would appreciate the info greatly.

Re: Motor/Engine Sim
there are simulators out there, but the only ones i know of are serious design programs, and they'll cost you over $10,000. and you'll need a hugely powerful computer to run them.

Re: Motor/Engine Sim
There are several out there from $29 to $200. Do a web search. If you know what you are doing, they give relatively decent results. The best thing about them is not so much for their exact HP/Torque accuracy, but the abilty to let you see what a cam timing change, valve size, carb size, etc. will do to your HP and Torque peak and ranges. We often use one (Performance Trends) to let a customer determine what would be the best bang for the buck for an upgrade.

Re: Motor/Engine Sim
I have Desktop Dyno 2000, and if you read the manual and actually follow instructions, its incredibly accurate. You absolutely must read the manual. It tells you how every input affects the simulation and why. If you just start plugging in numbers it won't be accurate.
Its on the web for cheap as a download.
