Cruise Control Problem in 98 GTP

So when i bought the car the cruise control didnt work... No cruise light on the dash or anything.
I replaced the lever and the cruise control brain...The yellow cloth band inside was frayed and broken on my old one.
Yet no cruise control.. No indicator light.. nothing.
The lever was used off of a 98 GP supposedly and when installing it... i did notice a wire or 2 was different on the harness than the old one.. But everything else still works! HELP im going on a road trip on the 18th and desperately want cruise.
Thanks
Jeremy

It is common to have different color wire color coding on parts like the multifunction (MFS) switch. Have you checked the fuses for cruise control and measured for 12 volts at the fuse sockets?

Big problem with that advice. The cruise control system on '97 and up Grand Prix is not vacuum controlled. There is no vacuum actuator. It is electronic only.

Re: Cruise Control Problem in 98 GTP

Hmm really. I was planning to swap out my 3.1 MPFI to a L67 3800 Series 2 or 3. And I was told it shouldnt be problem to rig up cruise control. Thinking that I thought they were the same.
