Speaking of starter bikes...

I was looking at craigslist today and saw an ad for a 1981 Honda CX 500 for $150, and it turned out to be about 2 miles from me. I've always been intrigued by those oddballs, that's the sideways v-twin, like a Moto Guzzi engine, water cooled and shaft drive.

So I went over and had a look, expecting a pile of junk, but it actually looked real good for the age, started and ran well, new tires, missing a couple of parts, but all in all a good solid specimen. I gave $140 for it, and now I have a new toy to dink with.

Need to find a wrecked CX-650 turbo, and do a transplant...ultimate sleeper...

Yeah...that'll happen

The turbo plumbing is ungainly, as it was tucked under a fairing on the CX650-turbo, so ther would be no "sleeper". Anyone with sight would see the turbo and it's special exhaust plumbing. Sounds like you got a hell of a deal on that bike though.
