Got to drive a C5 corvette today

my dad's friend owns a red C5 corvette

so anyway, i was hungry and said i was going to IHOP and asked if anyone else wants to go. My dad's friend says he does and that we should take his car, so I'm like sweet and made a joke about him letting me drive his car. (I'm 16)
Anyway, after we eat, he asks if i wanna drive back to my house, i was like hell yeah. DAMN that car is powerful. OK, that said, i was driving on a highway back home when what loooked like a 2000 Civic with the usual mods, I/E/H flys past me
My dad's friend just says "punch it" and a few seconds later im flying past the civic as if he was standing still.

o well, i "guess" thats my first kill, even though its not my car, and it wasnt a real race...but what the hell, im 16, and it was damn fun to drive that sportscar (I own a RAV4, not exactly a sports car.

yeah those things are fast. i tried following one in traffic. he wasj ust goin quick like he was in a hurry, he had no clue that i was tryin to chase him. even though i wasn't flooring it, he was pulling away, and i was pretty damn close to flooring it.

yeah, those cars are quick. I havent had the luxury of ridding in a new C5. But i have ridden in older vettes.
My uncle owned a 73 Corvette with a 350 TTops, auto.. fun car. He picked me up at my house then we jumped on the freeway and were doing 90 through traffic. We took this connecting road onto another freeway which is a 25mph turn at 85mph. That day... i fell in love with Corvettes all over again... i never got to drive the car... i was 11 at the time. But i'll get a Vette...after i get shot in the ass with gold bullets.

For the price I paid for my car, I could've owned a used C5

. I returned to the dealership two days after I drove off the lot to find a used C5 ('00 I think) going for 1k less than what I paid for my car. I could've kicked myself, the anger wore off on the drive home though

To this day the fastest I've ever been in a car is doing 165+ in my bros 74 stingray. That car is awesome. I kept egging him on one night after partying (he never races it) while on the FWY and to my surprise he floors it. I got pushed into my seat as that thing just took off. I kept me eye on the speedometer and it just kept climbing. He pegged the speedometer at 165 and the car still seemed to have more in it. He shut it down after holding it at 165+ for three seconds. I will never forget that night. Gotta love those cars.

C5's are great, but i'd take a Z06 any day of the week.

One of these days I'm going to go to a dealership just to test drive a Corvette or the Z06 Vette. I've never driven in anything above 230 hp and I'm itching to drive something a lot faster.

you dont know corvette until you've been in a z06... its insane. anyways i've been pretty fast in my rsx...... i had to get my speedometer recalibrated because i went over the speedomoter in a nitrous boost and then it fucked it all up. but thats my story lol.
