03 Monte Calro SS - Traction Control/ABS
I have a Monte Carlo 03.The Service Traction light keeps coming on, along with the abs light. I can't seem to find out what the problem is. I've checked the brakes. Checked all the fluids. The rotars look good.I Checked it with a computer. The abs/Service Traction system still comes on. The traction off button had something spilled on it at one time.Could that be it? Help?

Re: 03 Monte Calro SS - Traction Control/ABS
if the lights are on, that means there is a code. When both the traction and ABS lights come on, thats usually a sign of a problem with a sensor or input that is needed for both systems.
Whoever "checked the computer" needs to look more closely this may or may not be the problem but there is a TSB (Bulletin No.: 03-05-25-008) for your car that has to do with the front wheel speed sensors having badly routed wires causing the lights to come on. The fix is to replace both front hub bearings, which have the speed sensors mounted internally and are integral. You would want to verify if your car falls within this TSB, and also verify that the sensor harness' are actually the problem
