Hood Struts

this is a mod i have been thinking about doing. i would like to somehow install 2 hood struts to keep the hood open without using that damn pole to hold it open. i am thinking they would need to be light weight struts (since the hood isn't very heavy). anyone know of a vehicle that uses struts that could be "made" to work with the x hood?? maybe something i could find in a junkyard??
any ideas would be great.

I suppose for cheap you could hit the auto parts store and find some pneumatic shafts to use. Replaced the ones on the back of my sister's car that hold the hatch up. Same theory if you can find places to mount em.

PS: I like the single bar. Works fine for now.
