New ECU? HELP!!!
Installed new distributor but still can't go pass 3000 RPM it sounds like it's redlining.... could it be the ECU? Got different ECU from older model and it was a manual... mine is an automatic... it wouldn't let me shift out of park... but RPM went higher....
both ECU's blink 4 times... should I get a new one? or is something else wrong 91 civic dx auto 4dr |

what exact ecu did you use ? the manual should still work on the auto. cause my friend has a b16 but the shop only had an auto p30 so he stuck that on there and it worked good. but then there was this other guy who had a auto b16 but he had a manual p30, so my friend and this guy swapped ecus. point is, the manual p30 worked on the auto b16. idk i think it should work.

I think it was because it was also a different year.... but the point is that it's limiting my RPM somehow... so the top speed I can get to is 60 with my original and 80 with the older ECU.... is my ECU busted? or is it something else?
both ECU gives me code 4 |

Your ecu is throwing a major code and therefore going into "protect" or limp mode. Code 4 is the crank angle sensor. You are going to need to make sure it is plugged in and not defective. A new ecu is not going to solve your problem. The CKP sensor is located inside the distributor. You need to get a manual to troubleshoot the problem. I recommend the helms manual www.helminc.com

but if it's inside the distributor then that must mean that the one autozone gave me is defective? cuz I just got a new one for 300 bucks
hmm I'll check it out.... |
