What ever happened to the Yamaha YZF Thunderace 1000?

I've had this toy model that looked really cool, and I wanted to learn more about the bike, so I searched for it, but all that came up were French sites and stuff. Does anyone know if there's anywhere I can purchase it or something? Thanx alot.

I believe the last model of the YZF1000 Thunderace was 97, they gave that model up to pursue the YZF- R1000 in 98.

Not that you'd be partial or anything

I have to admit that I do like the style of the R1... That silver color is :licker:

Me? Partial? Whatever do you mean hehe

I like that new black R1 with red flames for the 2003 lineup, very sexy.

I agree with RSX, I like the look of the thunderace. But, that thing was a tank. If I remember, it weighed over 500 lbs, and it didn't handle very well.

I doubt sportbikes will return to the style of the old skool. IM they are going to start to become more angular and minimalist. IE the new R1.

Yes, it's (To me) the best looking bike for 2003.
