car not getting fuel?
my 1995 grand prix hasn't been starting after long periods of highway driving.
if I turn off the car and try to restart it acts as it is not getting enoung gas.....the rpms go up and down from 1 to 2 thousand without stepping on the gas, and then the car dies. I recently replaced the fuel filter, but am still having the problem. when cruising at certain speeds, the car runs fine. thanks in advance, frustrated dave |

Re: car not getting fuel?
Welcome to AF.
On the rear fuel injector rail (right side) is a Schrader valve where you can test fuel pressure, the fuel pressure regulator and fuel pump. I'd test it to make sure it is in specs. Also, check for possible vacuum leaks at the intake manifold.

Re: car not getting fuel?
Sorry 73 racing, the resistor only applies to the 97-up GTP's with the supercharged engine. There is no resistor on a 95 Grand Prix. I agree with bnaylor that a fuel pressure test is the first step. If it checks out, I'd remove and clean the IAC valve and throttle body next.
