gauge cluster question
about 9 months ago i bought a used 1990 buick lesabre. The car came with the standard gauge cluster : a speedometer and a gas gauge. I really wanted a tach, temp and oil gauge, so i did some research. I found out that there were two different clusters that the car could have. the basic speedo and gas guage cluster or an optional one that had the tach oil and temp gauges. I went to the junkyard and found the cluster with the extra gauges. I was wondering if i could just swap out clusters in my car. Since the car could be ordered with either cluster i would assume that the wiring behind the dash for the cluster would work either cluster. does anyone know if this would work or not?

The wiring is probably there and the tach should work. The sensors for the temp and oil gauges might not be on the engine if the computer doesn't use them. Or they might have switches for the idiot lights in place of the gauge sensors. I'm saying this based on what I'd expect on a Japanese car, so I could be totally wrong.
