Gauge cluster questions...
Does anyone know a good source for specs on the gauge clusters and wiring from different years of Civics... the reason I ask is because I was looking at my friends 2000 SI and the gauge sizes seem to be the same as the ones in my 92 civic... of course the cluster is totally different shape and the wiring is different, but if the gauges are the same size and the connections are similar from the harness, I think it should be possible to replace the tach, spedo, and fuel/temp dials into the other cluster housing and just re-route wires if necessary for the appropriate leads.
However since I don't have the Manuals for the other years yet... (I'll get them if it is even remotely possible) - I don't know. I searched the forums and didn't see anyone that had tried this. If anyone can point me in the right direction I'll be happy to write up a detailed tutorial and post it if/when I conquer this beast. I'm not afraid of a soldering iron in the least, and if necessary am willing to do my own IC project board if the carrier signals need to be adjusted in voltage, etc... in order to have the 2000 SI gauges work on the 92 ECU signals for the cluster. Any help is greatly appreciated... if nothing exists - look back here for the completed tutorial... I'm gonna do this even if I have to custom fabricate everything myself.

Re: Gauge cluster questions...
Might be easier to just swap the clusters if you are going to fabricate, especially if you can work well with fiberglass. Whatever you do, good luck on it and I will be waiting for the details and pics. Sorry I couldn't give you any info though.

Each individual meter gauge (speedo, tach, temp/fuel) can be bought and taken apart seperately. Weather or not you can cross platfor 5th gen cluster meters to 6th gen cluster meters, I'm not sure of. Wiring should be very similar though however I'd imagine...

Just use the Si's plugs. Get the wiring schematics for both cars, and repin the Si's plug with the corresponding wires from you car. As far as the fitment goes. it will probably require a bracket to be made so you can get all four screws in. Not hard. And if you make your own bracket, you can adjust fitment to make it as un noticable as possible, since it will more than likely not line up correctly with your bezel. Most of the GSR swaps I have seen, the cluster sits too low and cuts off about a centimeter from the bottom of the gauges.
