Input needed please! Is this worth buying??

Hello all,

I'm looking for a beater here in Vancouver and came across this...
=================================================
FS: 1992 Honda Civic DX hatchback $1999

1992 civic DX hatch 5 speed
white with black hood

The good:
Runs awesome
Starts stops turns
Good milage
Clean inteior
Clean engine bay
Underneath is solid
KN Cone filter (can also include stock airbox +KN Drop in)
MSD Wires
OBX muffler w/ 2.25" exhaust
Sony tape deck
Reliable
No rust. this is a sold car to build up

The bad
330000kms, but the car doesnt show it
Passenger side quarter panel has some damage, but majority is fixed.
Salvage title (because of quarter damage)

No other hits as far as I can tell, original spot welds on rad support and gaps are excellent.

Asking $2000 FIRM!
Looking for quick sale. This is a perfect car for someone looking to get from point a to b relaibly or for someone looking to do a buildup.

=================================================

I went to see it with a friend that drives standard (as I dont and wanting to learn) and he said that it drives good. My biggest concern is the milage on the car, 330,000km. He's not to sure what the history of the car is since it was purchased as a salvage title from the provincial insurence corp. (Original owner wrote it off cuz of the rear pass. quarter panel got hit.) I think the most he's done is replace the plugs and wires. I need some input as to weather this is a good buy or not. I will either A) drive it as a beater and sell it next year when I get a newer used car or B) swap out the engine with my friends 96 civic engine. I'm leaning more towards to A since I would like a newer car down the road. With the mileage it has clocked in, whats the likelihood of it giving me major problems within the next year?? I don't plan to clock in any more then 10,000km this year. Please enlighten me with what I shoudl do!! Thanks in advance!

Ron

I would personally run a carfax on it as well as take it to a trusted local mechanic to see if there is anything major wrong with it. It does look very clean, but that is pretty pricy for having that many km on it and being a salvage title. And honestly if you're just going to sell it in a year or so anyways, then don't buy it.

Does the odometer actually say 330,000 on it? Maybe the seller just rounded down...by alot. Either way, use that as a bargaining chip.
