Question map sensor problem maybe??

i have a 88 honda civic dx with the 1.5 litr in it and i have a problem when you start the car it starts to miss and when it warms up it wants to die, on the road driving wise the car misses and carries on and has no power, you can smell fuel badly in the car and my car smokes black, my ecu is throwing 2 codes.....one code is for the fuel injectors and the other code is for the map sensor, before the headgasket was done on the car it ran fine, but now it does not want to run at all....the car is in time, new plugs...wires...and the dizzy is alright....maybe my problem is all in the map sensor......help

Re: map sensor problem maybe??

Could be. See if you can get your hands on a map sensor from a friend just to swap to see if the problem clears up. If it does then go buy the new one.

Re: map sensor problem maybe??

did you plug the right plugs in. The map sensor plug connector can be confused with others?

Re: map sensor problem maybe??

Check all the little clips on the injectors, you may be leaking some fuel out if you smell it. Those clips tend to break easily if they've had any work done to them.
