92 Regal rear spark plug access
1992 Buick Regal
3.8L v6 Automatic 160K miles Hi, I've heard there's a way to somehow rock the engine forward so you can access the rear spark plugs. Can anyone tell me how this is done? Thanks |

Re: 92 Regal rear spark plug access
The rear bank spark plugs can be replaced with the proper hand tools and patience. However, you should be able remove the front engine mounts and tilt the engine forward which may give you some extra clearance. Also, I would replace the ignition wires too.

Re: 92 Regal rear spark plug access
I have a '93 and I was able to use a universal with an extention to remove the back plugs. I had to climb right up on top of the engine to see what I was doing. It only took me 2 hours to do it but it was the first time. I can now do it in an hour. I agree 100% with bnaylor patience is definatly something you need, along with a cold one.

Re: 92 Regal rear spark plug access
I have a 90 and I'm a having somewhat of the same problem, except I've got the book on my car... I can get the engine rotated, but do I have to take the engine cover off?

Re: 92 Regal rear spark plug access
Should just 'pop' off, it's clamped to the fuel rail.
