I need some guidance on replacing my serpentine belt on my 2003 Corolla. It has 64,000 miles and has cracks in the belt and is starting to make noise.
I already purchased a Goodyear Gatorback V-Belt for it and am hoping someone can help me. It has a/c. Maybe send me a picture of what to loosen, in order to get the belt loose. Thanks in advance.

Re: 2003 Corolla - Change serpentine belt
most serpintine belts have a tensioner that will give you the slack you need to change the belt.also you should have a diagram somewhere under the hood that shows the correct way that the s/belt routesbut the tensioner should be free not tight and you push it to give some slack then you tighten it up to hold it there while you change the belt. once you get it right loosen the tensioner just enough to take the slack out of the belt and don't loosen anymore and do not tighten it backup let it hold the tension on the belt.

This is from a 1999 Toyota corolla, 1.8L, automatic trans, with air conditioning and may differ on other cars. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...ne_diagram.jpg |
