Help w/ Install of Serpantine Belt
I really need help w/ installing my serpantine belt. I have a 2002 Toyota Corolla. I have purchased the correct belt for my engine, I have an idea of which way it goes on but I am getting stuck w/ the tension. I am trying to release a bolt but it is not giving. What is the correct way to put it on??? Any suggestions...

Re: Help w/ Install of Serpantine Belt
I belive the haynes manual goes into good detail about it, it uusually goes for under $20 and is def worth the investment...but it is a pain in the ass job since the wheel has to be removed to get access to it but yea haynes will give you diagrams and a good understanding on how to do it

Re: Help w/ Install of Serpantine Belt
Well I picked up the Haynes manual. Unfortunately, it doesn't cover the belt change in as much detail as I hoped. With the hood open looking down at the belt there isn't a lot of clearance to get an arm through.
I might have to put the car on jack stands and start from the bottom with someone applying pressure to the tensioner so I can put the belt on the bottom pulleys then to the top. I thought about changing the tensioner as well as it is leaking but that is covered in even less detail. You had to remove the steering wheel? |
