1999 unstable revs help
Hello everyone,
I have a 1992 Honda Civic Hatchback with a 1999 engine with a cold air intake and 1999 transmission. When I start the engine, it revs 2500 then slowy up to 3200, and then it drops down to around 2300 and rev up to 3200. It keeps doing that every seconde. The engine overheat, when I turn the heat on, it doesn't blow the heat out of the engine. It sounds like the engine is looking for something. I chane the oil, anti freeze and the thermostat. The dash board doesn't indicate anything. Anyone knows what is the problem? |

Re: 1999 unstable revs help
Out of nowhere? Did you change or do anything out of the ordinary? Reason I'm asking is because Hondas do the idle surge becuase of many problems.

Re: 1999 unstable revs help
Yes. It happened 2-3 min after I started the engine 2 days ago, out of no where.
I changed the transmission this summer and ran really good. I thought it may be thermostat, so I changed today, but the revs still go up and down. |

Re: 1999 unstable revs help
Could be a vaccum leak. Check all the lines. Could also be the IAC got stuck open. Fix here.
