Talking Finished Pics of The New And Improved "Ugly Duck"

The ugly duck has returned !!
As you can see...its amazing what a lowering job will do...(even if it is an Extreme one !!)

IMO its looking alot better then before. I've even chucked a poll in so you can have your say !!

Car was stripped down and repainted in black again as i wasn't happy with it the first time.

The headlights were painted in a different shade of black to try and highlight having a one piece eyebrow on them and to make them alot smaller. They were painted black at first but they still didnt look right.

After seeing the pics i might even add a big tip and strip the rear headlights and just have clears.

Probably abit to low...but i just wanted something different..lol

This is what it looked like before...

Now ......is this better ?? !!.

It looks better but the kit really doesn't look good does it? Fujimi haven't done a good job with that one!

Hmmm....okay.

While I like the AMG SLK, I don't like it well enough to buy two more kits (Tamiya SLK and Fujimi SLK) to properly kitbash them to get one that looks right. Not to mention the time factor.

The slammed look on this one just doesn't suit it IMHO, and the headlight fix looks like something I'd do, and then regret afterwards

Almost looks like a pro-streeter that needs to be tubbed and have a giant blower sticking through the hood. And I have an aversion to those too...not that there's anything wrong w/them, they just don't do it for me.

Sometimes we all build models that just don't quite have "the look" that we so desperately try for on all of them. Been there, done that!

Hey Pman, very nice improvement on this duckling.
A fresh look of the headlight which made me think of panda eyes

Hi PMan,

My wife!!! and I - yes she is by my side as I type - think you've completely lost it. How can you do this to a sweet SLK???

From a modelling stand point you did a great job, but pls never rape a sweet Merc like this anymore or I will fly in person to New-Zealand and kick your ...

You know I'm a Mercedes fan, so next time I do a Nissan Primera, yes... I got already a project in mind

oh yes, completely off-topic, I join the club of 35'ers tommorow!
