A little wintertime activities.

Went and did a little back country snowshoeing today. Beautiful day out, average of about 2-3 feet of snow. Went a total of about 8 1/2 miles.

The pooch loves the snow.

The high was 10 degrees where we were at. We peaked out at a little over 9200 ft.

Eventually we would like to make it to the peak in the third picture.

Re: A little wintertime activities.

I've always wanted to go snowshoeing. It looks really cool. But usually the downhill skiier in me takes over and I do that instead.

Excellent pics... Remind me of ski trips in Vermont.

Re: A little wintertime activities.

awesome pics, reminds me of when i was in switzerland, everywhere you look there are perfect mountains... then you see some crazy f*cker skiing down some nearly vertical hill dodging jagged rocks lol.

Awesome pics. I don't mind cross country skiing, but I'd rather go boarding.

Re: A little wintertime activities.

well i just got good news on the way home from school today. the canal here is going to be opened. we've got a 7km long canal that freezes over in the winter, it's a major attraction and it might be getting world landmark or something like that status. anyways with the warm weather we had this winter people weren't sure if it's open, but this past week we've had -16 (-25 with winchill, i think the coldest we've had so far this year is negative 30 something with windchill factor) quite a few times. they expect the canal to open around february 2nd, just in time for the big winter festival. it's alot later than i would have liked but at least it's opening.
