Is your dog fat??

Then maybe Slentrol can help them. The FDA has approved a new diet pill for dogs:http://www.9wsyr.com/news/local/stor...c-1c22e6183d31
What's next a doggie version of Viagara?

Re: Is your dog fat??

Not really that suprising to me. When I worked at Home Depot, they had some BBQ sauce made specially for dog food.

Re: Is your dog fat??

That's dumb. Dogs only get fat due to lack of exercise which is the owners fault. If the owner refuses to walk the dog no pill is ever going to help.

Re: Is your dog fat??

also for the record, my dog isn't fat, she was at some point but then we switched her food to diet food and started walking her every day, or almost every day, and surprise, she lost weight and now she's perfectly healthy. she's an 11 year old golden retriever so blaming it on the dog being old doesn't work either, daily walks will help it stay healthy.

Re: Is your dog fat??

My golden runs with me. She slows down at about mile four, but keeps going until the end.

I heard about this on the radio, and had to laugh.

Re: Is your dog fat??

oh my golden/yellow lab is too old to be walking around a lot now. She's got major hip displasia (sp?) and her vision/hearing are starting to go. So she's kind of tubby, but its ok. As longa s she's happy. I think im going to bring her for a short walk now, since the weather is continuing to be teh awesome.

Re: Is your dog fat??

wow, just wow.

Even if the owners are too lazy to go walk their dog at least just go throw the ball for your dog. They can even sit their fat asses in a chair while they do it so they dont overexert themsevles. I have never had a fat dog but that might just be because I actually play with my critters.

Re: Is your dog fat??

I go with the old adage:

If a dog is fat, its owner needs more exercise.

It's not the dog's fault that the owner is over feeding and under exercising. It disgusts me how people expect everything to be taken care of with a pill, without any effort, exertion, thought or action on their part.

Re: Is your dog fat??

give a starving person a fish, he's fed for a day
teach him to fish, he'll be fed for life

Honestly, its embarassing that there are diet pills to begin with. forget dogs, WE need to start getting off our asses. Instead of buying pills, buy a gym membership.

so what's the doggy going to do? get on the stairmaster next to you. forget about the gym memebership, put a leash on the dog and go out for a run. the reason my kids and dogs are in good condition is because they get out and run every day.

That's funny you mention that. I belong to a Yahoo group called Freecycle. They have local groups all over the country. It is a link between members to give away items no longer needed that still are in good condition, to keep them out of landfills,(kind of recycling what you no longer need.) Members can also request items in hopes someone may have it and be willing to part with it. Anyways, I was checking my messages from the group one day last week and came across a post where a member was looking for any unwanted treadmills to "walk their dogs." Apparently, they run a dog rescue group and have a couple of large dogs. They no longer feel safe walking the dogs in the neighborhood and were hoping to get a couple of used treadmills for the dogs so they could walk them that way. I can picture it now...
