hey everybody, i was just wondering what type of civic would be best for a b16a swap?
std, dx, or si? |

Well...the Si is the heaviest of the 3 - however, it is the easiest to wire since it already has MPFI.
The STD is the lightest, but like the DX has DPFI, so you would need to do some extra wiring to make the b16a work. I would personally put a b16a into a CRX HF - which is ~1800 lbs. - the lightest of all 4th gens, and already has MPFI. ![]() Oh yeah - welcome to the board fellow Marylander!

Obvious choice is a crx HF due to the weight advantage...or a 4dr sleeper..hehe j/k. Here is a list from the least amount of work to the most:
Si/Ex Hf Lx/Dx/STD

If I were ever to do a swap, I would probably go with an EX sedan or CRX HF, I am discouraged from going with an EX sedan cause I have heard many horror stories about em (plus sunroof was still an option on this trim level, didnt become standard on the EX till 92 or 93) anyhow, good luck.

The dx sucks
... Especially my dx with an auto transmission..... only 63,560 miles tho....... Paint is excellent. So I don't really mind the extra $500 on my engine swap...

Yeah..the HF engine in and of itself is not good...It only makes 63 HP...however, it is less work to do a swap since the wiring is there for MPFI...just a little less involved from that aspect.

I would chose the HF. The only problem is u got to change the hubs/knuckles or whatever. Its smaller than the si and dx. So you have to get it from the si and the dx in order for the integra axles to fit in there. OH and welcome!
