Completed: 68 Custom Firebird

I started this project in september. I had never done any body mods before but had this idea for a 68 firebird. I decided it was time to jump in after seeing all the awsome work on these boards and reading some tuts. I combined a 78 trans am with a 68 firebird for a retro mod look, kind of along the lines of the new mustang, camaro and challenger. I fit the lower half of the 78 front end to the 68, used the rear wing and the shaker scoop, flared the rear fenders and added some side vents. It took just as long as I expected but I can't be any happier with the way it turned out. Now it's time to think about the next project. I hope you all like it.

I think it looks friggin great--not my first choice for wheels personally, but the stance is fantastic, the rubber is huge, and I love the paintjob. Great work.

This turned out amazing. The body mods are well done but I think it's that 3-tone paint job that sets it all off perfectly. You really made a great looking one of a kind custom and I am looking forward to your next project.

I love it! The 3-tone paint compliments the mods perfectly!

Man that paint is awesome but the rims are a bit too big for my taste I like the style of the rims just if the were smaller ... In scale those are what? like 20" rims?

Thanks Dean, I'm glad you like it, I appreciate your compliment. I have a Hurst Olds that I painted and never finished so I think I am going to do something simple and finish that.

I can't remember what scale they are. I wanted to go with a five spoke but didn't have them so I stole these off my 69 camaro just to get it finished. I am still looking for a set that I really like but these are starting to grow on me.
