great modeling sites...

maybe this has been done before; frankly, i'm too lazy to check. but i thought it'd be cool to see what sites you've bookmarked and check frequently for inspiration, tricks, etc...

one of my favorites is God Dwells in Small Things and Akihiro Kamimura's sister site, Modeling Factory which is in Japanese but linked here to an English translation.

i'm sure everyone's bookmarked these, but Bil Attridge and Alex Kustov opened my eyes to the possibilities of this hobby when i first started out. i still refer regularly to Alex's excellent tutorials.

William Chan inspires me, and there's some cool stuff at the 1/43 Gallery.

and when i want to be completely blown away, i check out Andy Mathews. if you haven't checked out his clearview book, do yourself a favor and do so.

Thanks for the links, Alex's tutorials could really come in handy for some of the things I would like to try.

Re: great modeling sites...

those are all fine and good, but frankly, I'm not into ferarris and f-1, so I can't give a non biased opinion. the sites are fantastic, well architechtured, and easy to negotiate.

I preffer hot rods and customs (cars, AND trucks), and it's to bad for me that I can't find any decent sites without skimming through a bazzillion worthless pages on google.

the point is to get other people to post 'em so we don't have to do all that wading. so if you've got any, go ahead and post 'em.

Here's a couple you might like:

Re: great modeling sites...

Here is a resource you might find handy, Rsxse. While it doesnt feature models, they have thousands of pics of original and customized hot rods and cars and is a great resource when you need ideas for paintjobs and looks but mostly I like it when I need references to make a model's engine and interiors more realistic.

Re: great modeling sites...

RSXSE- if you don't subscribe to The Rodder's Journal, i'd highly recommended it. it's a bit pricey, but worth every single penny. i've subscribed for years, and it is by far the best hot rod and custom publication available.
