Absolute Model Newbie Need Advice!

Hi guys im a total newbie to models, but not to cars. I am an rx7 fanatic and i have a couple diecast models of 3rd gens, and a 1st gen transformer. My actual car is a second gen rx7 .. so i ordered a model kit of an Initial D Ryosuke Savannah rx7. The model has arrived and im really excited about it, although i need some advice. THis is my very first model ever and i want to do it right.. What do i need to get ? In terms of painting it would kind of paint do you normally use ? am i supposed to get spray paint? how do i go about doing it.. I know these are pretty basic things, just want to get some advice from people who have done a lot of them.. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to AF~
Yes, do read the FAQ, it'll give you lots of hints and pointers.

I've also build this RX7 kit before. If you're not looking to replicate the Initial D car, this is a pretty simply kit to build.
