one kit? two kits? three kits? more? how many projects ya got going?

i build 'em one at a time. dunno why. maybe because i haven't got much space for building and storing. how many projects do you have going and how do you keep 'em organized? how long ago did you start your oldest unfinished project?

and what's your build style? i do the research, annotate the kit directions so i know when and where to make mods; prepare the body and then follow the build sequence in the instructions...

Re: one kit? two kits? three kits? more? how many projects ya got going?

Funny you should ask. I'm actually on a finish up old projects kick right now, though I'm doing only some of my more recent start-ups. My oldest is 42 months old, and I've probably on incomplete project for every 4 months after that. Let me count.... it looks like 12, but there may be more that I've started, or some of the ones I do count probably don't really enter in to "started but incomplete" because they are so barely started. I have another ten or so projects that I am excited about, too, and who knows when I'll start those....

Re: one kit? two kits? three kits? more? how many projects ya got going?

What a depressing question.

Well, let's see- I have no fewer than five full engine builds going right now that are 'active'- that is to say that have either been started or have recieved significant progress in the last year.

I also have more painted bodies for curbside builds than I would care to count.

The upside to building this way is that I learn alot- each and every year I am leaps and bounds better than I was the year before. On the other hand, I finish projects at an incredibly slow pace. It's not unusual for a full engine to take multiple years, and even curbsides drag on for months- or get shelved for years.

Research? I am always researching- before, during and after a build. I've never yet done a build that I've been satisfied with the level of research material I have- although the F40 is close.

And 'kit instructions' are really little more than 'kit suggestions'.

Re: one kit? two kits? three kits? more? how many projects ya got going?

I think there is about 70-80 models in the closet and as far as I know there is only one that still is untouched
some that probably never will be finshed and some that just needs a couple of days to get ready to see daylight again.

For the moment the attention is put on a Lancia Stratos, a 68 Roadrunner, a 64 Impala and hopefully they will get ready for display not very long from now.
But you never know, up comes that gorgeous project that's fresh and pristine and swoooosh......away goes the "old" projects

Re: one kit? two kits? three kits? more? how many projects ya got going?

At the moment I am building a 1/20 Lotus 99T, 1/20 Lotus 78, 1/20 Brabham BT50 (put on hold, waiting for the Acustion p/e set to come out for it) and a 1/8 3rd gen Camaro.
I counted the other day, and i have around about 160 kits left to build. My wife hates seeing them all sitting there.

Re: one kit? two kits? three kits? more? how many projects ya got going?

1/12 Scratch Build (Going on 3Years) is the only current project that I'm working on. I have several others that I work on intermittently such as:

Dragon BMW E36
Revell C6R Test Car (Full opener/Extreme detail)
Tamiya Porsche GT3

Then we can delve even further as to how many projects I've started yet not finished. But thats a long, long, long list.

Re: one kit? two kits? three kits? more? how many projects ya got going?

Hi! First time post. Ummm . . . let see . . well im trying to build all the popular Honda models like Civic Sedan and hatch, the Integra JDM and USDM, and ill be building my self a CRX (If i can still find one) with a b16 swap. So I got like 4 kits in my trunk. The Hatch,Sedan, and Integras. Anyone know where I can get a spare b16 or b18 motor and a CRX?

I now have two untouched cars sitting in the closet.
I got a bribe today a friend asked for help with one of his cars and gave me a Revell 67 Coronet in advance from his stack
