GTP misfires badly

I have a 97 pont. G/P GTP with a bad misfire.A scan of codes revealed two fuel inj. are misfiring. After replacing all six injectors it still seems to be only running on half the cylinders.or with no change. Can a bad crankshaft position sensor cause a false fuel injector misfire code? If not where would I go from here?

Re: GTP misfires badly

Welcome to AF.

What were the 2 fuel injector DTCs? Any other DTCs? Have you tried a NOID light to check the fuel injector pulse from the PCM module?

A bad CKPS normally gives a no start condition or engine stalling/dying effect once moving. Sometimes a CKPS DTC will set but not always.

BTW - The camsahft position sensor controls fuel injector timing in conjunction with the CKPS.
